See schoolchildren
experience Roman life hands-on

In the 2013 summer term, children at five Cambridgeshire schools were taken on an adventure in their own classrooms. During two days of immersive and imaginative learning, each class experienced a Roman marketplace, explored the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and discovered how archaeologists have uncovered Pompeii and Herculaneum in the centuries since. Their hands-on experiences were then reinforced with a trip to the British Museum in London, to see the exhibit "Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum".
